Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister
Age 78 of Eagan, formerly of St. Paul

Mary Ann was born on August 17, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Frank and Dorothy Rettner. She attended Harding High School and married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Vollhaber on January 30, 1960 in St. Paul. Throughout her years she worked at the courthouse and at her husband's company as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, reading, camping, gardening and more. Mary Ann will be remembered for her extremely contagious giggle. She passed away on January 2, 2015 after a battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, Robert W. “Bob”. Survived by 3 children, Andrew (Angella) of Maplewood, Shari (Ed) Niemczyk of Apple Valley and Jennifer (David) Jensen of Mounds View; 8 grandchildren; brother, Robert “Bob” (Nancy) Rettner; sister, Kathy Pieper; and many other family and friends. Visitation from 2:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Mueller Memorial, 835 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Pascal Baylon Catholic Church, 1757 Conway Street, St. Paul with second visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
