Obituary for Carol Annette Bullman (Reeves)

Carol Annette Bullman (nee Reeves)

Carol was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on June 19, 1935. She was one of twelve children to Alice and Ralph Reeves. She grew up in St. Paul and moved to California after school. While at a restaurant in San Diego, she met a handsome sailor named Glenn Bullman. He was from Tennessee and they fell in love. Carol and Glenn were married in California on October 20, 1959. During their time living in California, Virginia, and Indiana, Carol was a kind caregiver to many children. She helped to raise many family members’ children as well as others that needed her help. Eventually, they moved back to Minnesota following his discharge from the Navy. They raised their family on the East Side of St. Paul. Carol’s career in cooking took her to many places and nursing homes throughout the area. With her excellent skills in the kitchen, she spoiled her family and friends with her comfort food. Everyone who was able to enjoy meals by Carol was also able to enjoy tons of leftovers. No one could leave the house without taking extra food with them because Carol never cooked in moderation. Although she could cook and bake anything, her sugar cookies and lemon meringue pie were the most famous. As a family, road trips all over the United States were very common. Most often, trips were taken to Tennessee to visit Glenn’s family and friends back home. In the later years, trips to Las Vegas became more common. She and Glenn were able to buy a time share in Breezy Point and that became their favorite spot to visit. She was also devote Avon client and loved to buy their products. Carol was a spitfire who thrived in the center of attention. She was a very strong willed woman but as generous as could be. There was always a special spot in her heart for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She had a passion for gambling and loved to go to Little Six to play the slots. Carol will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. Therese of Woodbury. She had her closest family and friends by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Ralph Reeves; her husband of 49 years, Glenn Bullman; her son, Lloyd Bullman; and all eleven of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Lita (Jeramy) Grezek of Hudson, WI; her son, Doug (Sheryl) Bullman of Centerville, OH; her granddaughters, Sarah and Alyssa Grezek of Hudson, WI; her close friends and neighbors, Amy (Tim) Reddy and their son Felix Reddy, all of St. Paul; close friend, Nancy (Dan) Priebe of Frederick, WI; special nieces, Cleda (Don) Taekette of Ohio, and Kayla Russ of St. Paul, MN; and many other family and friends.
