Age 92

Ruby Jane Horrisberger of Oakdale, Minnesota, passed away of lung and bone cancer on August 15, 2017. One of 12 children, she was born March 9,1925 in Woodbury, MN to Eliza and Peter Riemenschneider.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Delmore, her daughter, Roxy, her parents and nine of her siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Horrisberger of Woodbury, MN; and Lori (Dave) Conley of Hudson, WI. She is also survived by cherished grandchildren, Abigail Wise of Boulder, Colorado; Rachel Conley (Clark Rinker) of Bellingham, WA; and Jessica Conley of Richfield, MN (fiance Eric Ostrander); in addition to loving sisters, Ruth Molean and June McKernon. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, friends, and church family.

Ruby married Delmore John Horrisberger on January 13, 1945, while he was home on leave from the U.S. Army. They moved from their St. Paul home to Maplewood in 1957. She was employed as a cook for Cross Lutheran School and then as a Medication Aide at the Ramsey County Care Center.

She was a lifelong connoisseur of good food, and enjoyed nothing more than cooking for those she loved. Ruby devoted her life to her family and church, Cross Lutheran, which she joined in 1957, and where she was an active member in United Sisters. She faithfully prepared monthly meals for the homeless for many years.

Funeral will be on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:30 with visitation one hour prior, at Cross Lutheran Church,1945 Prosperity Road, Maplewood, MN 55109. Burial at Fort Snelling Cemetery following the luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross Lutheran Church.
