Obituary for Michele Lynn Kraft-Booher (Wiedenhoft)

Michele Lynn Kraft-Booher (Wiedenhoft)
Michele Lynn Kraft-Booher (nee Wiedenhoft)

Age 54 of Maplewood, MN
Passed Away on September 9, 2017

Michele was born in Virginia, MN on December 13, 1962. She was one of three children to Marilyn (nee Davis) and Art Wiedenhoft. She graduated from Nashwauk Keewatin High School then moved to the Twin Cities. She always wanted to move to the big city and be closer to the action of city life. Michele was an extremely hard worker and was a dedicated waitress for most of her life. She also worked in the cafeteria at Hill Murray High School for a few years. Even at home, she worked hard in the kitchen as a phenomenal baker. She would make cookies, cakes, and breads. Her most memorable baked good was her banana bread. She has two daughters, Amanda and Katie, who were the center of her world. Although she was a resident of Maplewood, she was almost an honorary resident of White Bear Lake. She loved to visit White Bear Lake whether it was going to the farmer’s market or walking around the lake. She met Chris Booher and they were married in Stillwater, MN on October 22, 1999. Their family grew to five when she added her step-daughter, Ashley to their life. Outside of work and family, her biggest love was for General Hospital. Everyone knew that you did not interrupt Michele when she was watching her favorite TV show. Michele adored animals and had three pets of her own, Bonnie Lou (her beloved cocker spaniel), and Sammy and Gypsy (her two cats). She also considered her three fur grandbabies, Matilda, Mollie, and Bizzy, her own and would always volunteer to watch them. There was not an animal birthday or event she ever forgot. These birthdays would be complete with treats, cakes, and little animal birthday hats. She also enjoyed country music (specifically Garth Brooks), planting flowers, and spending time with her family. She and Chris loved travelling to Red Wing, MN and when her daughter, Katie, was in school in Washington D.C., she took many trips there to visit. Within the Maplewood community, she served as an Election Judge for many years. For anyone who knew Michele, they will remember her outgoing and eccentric personality, her ability to talk to anyone, and her sarcastic and loving sense of humor. She had the gift of gab and impacted even strangers with her ability to chat. She will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Michele passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Chris Booher; her daughters, Amanda (J David Frasl) Block, and Katie (Justin Peck) Kraft; her step daughter, Ashley (Katherine) Booher; her parents, Art and Marilyn Wiedenhoft; her sister, Julie Monroe; her brother, Chris Wiedenhoft; her in-laws, Tom Booher, Barb Briese, and Mary Ann Booher; nieces and nephews, David, Tim, and Elizabeth Powell, and Taylor, Alyca, Christina, Tessa, and Ryan Wiedenhoft; and many other family and friends.

There will be a gathering for family and friends from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake. On Saturday, September 16, 2017, there will be a service to celebrate Michele’s life at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with a reception to follow until 3:00 PM. Following the services, an after party celebration will be held at 1400 Currie Street N., Maplewood, MN 55119.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Tashjian Bee & Pollinator Discovery Center (donations towards saving our pollinators) and Rosie's Red Lake Rescue Animal Rescue.
