Preceded in death by beloved wife Mary Rae Schreier, parents Mathew and Sophie, brothers Mathew, Richard and infant James, and many other relatives and friends.

Tom graduated from Cretin High School in 1954 and St. Thomas College in 1959, and after some time in the Army, began a career as a CPA, eventually starting his own firm by the name of Schreier, Heimer & Kosbab, and later including partners Cornell, Kahler and Mair, among others. After retirement, Tom continued to be active in the real estate industry, enjoyed golf and going out to dinner, and loved to travel with family, including his favorite annual Spring Break trips with his children and grandchildren. Tom gave of his time and resources freely. He generously served on countless Boards throughout the years, including Gateway Bank, Saint Thomas Academy, The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, St. Mary of the Lake Church, Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis, Children’s Hospital, and many other educational and charitable organizations. Tom also humbly accepted the Hames Alumni Honors Award and Opus Sancti Thomae Medal from St. Thomas Academy and is a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, among other well-deserved recognition. A special thank you for the great care given by HealthEast Cancer Care, Dr. Cheema, Fatma, Marcie, Paula, Karen, Kristie, Amy and the many others there who embraced Tom’s whole family for over two years, and to HealthEast Hospice Care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Assumption Church, 51 West 7th St., St. Paul at 3:00 pm on Friday, September 29, 2017. Gathering to follow at Town & Country Club, 300 N. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul. Visitation Thursday at Assumption Church from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to the Friday Mass. Memorials preferred to Saint Thomas Academy, Visitation School or other Catholic educational institution of choice, or to the Flames Special Olympic Team. Tom often said to others “You’re a good man.” We are all thankful that we had this “good man” in our lives. God Bless.
