Obituary for Steven Iver Howie

Steven Iver Howie
Hugo, MN

Born May 1st, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Preceded in death by his parents (Iver and Mary Jane) and brother (Peter 2014 [Janice 1997]). Survived by his beautiful wife of 43 years, Helen. Loving children Alicia (Kevin), Aaron (Chelsie), Arik (Ashley) and Alyse (Anthony); grandchildren Nia and Quinn; brother Alan (Sue).

Graduate of the University of Minnesota, member of Acacia fraternity. Active member of his church and community. Steve and his wife met in 1969 at Iowa National Insurance company (married in 1974). After and extensive career in multiple high-level fields, he finally retired (2008) from his professional life. From there, he continued to bring joy to his family, grand-dogs, and all people he came in contact with, through his love of life, sport and travel. His unique ability to remodel houses, fix farm tractors, and raise livestock, all with duct tape alone, there was not a project the man would shy away from. He will forever be remembered as a light in darkness, a jester at all family gatherings, and a true lover of all parts of life.

“If you are quiet, you are not living. You've got to be noisy, colorful and lively.” - Mel Brooks
