Obituary for Russell Ralph Kohner

Russell Ralph Kohner

Age 91, of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully on January 5
while surrounded by his children.

Russ was an incredibly energetic man who lived life to the fullest. He was kind, loving, and generous; always putting others first. He could find a friend in anyone and always appreciated a good laugh or a long conversation. He enjoyed the cabin, golf, and volleyball (even playing on his 90th birthday). His favorite tunes would get him up and dancing. Russ was a proud Navy veteran and retiree from BNSF Railroad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gert and Ralph; his son Bill “Kohny”; and his sister Maxine Ohse. Russ will be dearly missed by his devoted wife of 70 years, Catherine “Kay” Kohner; his loving children, Karen (Bill) Paist, Mary (Jim McQuillan) Wood, Julie (Phil Hinderaker) Kohner, and Jack (Theresa) Kohner; his dear grand children, Ben Mooney, Paul (Allison) Koecher, Kelli Wood, KeAnna Kimbllin, Samuel Kohner, and Nathan Kohner; his special great-grand daughter Ruby Kay Mooney; and many other family and friends. He always said he was blessed to have such an amazing family, but his family believes they were the ones who were blessed!
