Lifelong resident of the Eastside
Dan passed away peacefully on April 9, 2018, after 5 years of cancer. Preceded in death by parents George & Mary; sister, Connie (Merlin) Krussell; and brother and sister-in-laws, Mary (Gene) Kelcher, Frank (Catherine) Ricci, Richard (Gladys) Richie, Bernice (Dick) Swanson, Carmel Richie, and Muriel Ricci. Survived by loving wife of 69 years Albena “Bena”; children, Dennis (Cindy), Kathy (Jim) Henk, Patrick, Mike (Ann), Kevin, Shawn (Lara), Dan (Amy); 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Angeline (Emil) Kucera; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat Ricci, RoRo (John) Baregi, Anna Mae Parker; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. He Loved life and being with people. He was a veteran of US Navy WWII. After the war he went to the University of Minnesota. He worked at Hamm’s Brewery for 40 years and was president of the union for many years. Dan was active in the DFL party, an avid golfer, member of The Men’s Club at St. Patrick Church, and was involved in his children’s sports and activities. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, April 14 at 10:30 AM at The Church of St. Patrick, 1095 Desoto St with visitation starting at 9 AM. Burial at Union Cemetery. A special thanks to the Allina Hospice Homecare staff.
