Of St. Paul
Passed away peacefully on June 18, 2018 after a long hard fight. Born in Hokah, MN and graduated from Harding High School. Joined the Army at age 17, served in demolition during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant First Class. After studying at St. Thomas and DeVry University, he had a long career as a computer engineer at Boeing and Unisys. Lifetime member of Roseville VFW Post #7555. Joe was known for his great sense of humor, his life stories, his love of music and spending time with family and best friend Masie. Preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Francis; sister, Patricia Francis. He will be dearly missed by children, Debbie Nelson (Brett), Mike (Jessica), Shannon Schultz (Chris) & Shane (Tanya); and their mother Carol; grandchildren, Alexa (Dan), Miranda, Sadie, Kennidi. Savannah, Matthew, Kyle, Emma, Eddie; great granddaughter Solvi; sisters, Rosemary Rucker, Marlene Dannecker, Elaine (Clyde) Ohmann and Carol (Rich) Herrmann; brother Jim (Marge); dear friend Masie Goeritz and many nieces & nephews. Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY, June 26th at 9:30 am at CERENITY MARION CARE CENTER CHAPEL, 200 Earl Street. Procession and burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation SUNDAY, June 24th from 2-5:00 pm at MUELLER MEMORIAL, 835 Johnson Parkway and one hour before the Mass at Cerenity on Tuesday. Thanks to all who assisted with Joe’s care especially those at Cerenity.

All memorials will be donated by the family to The Parish of St. John's Little Canada.
