I don't have a lot of personal memories of Mike, though I do remember him from when I was little. He has always seemed so happy to me, even in these last several months, when I knew he had to be in a lot of pain. But for me, the biggest testament to his life and legacy is reflected in his children. Over the last year, I've gotten to watch his daughter Jaime grow and mature as a woman of God, and be amazed at how much joy she has in her Savior. I truly believe that it was Mike's life as a Christian and his example that paved the way for Jaime and her siblings to find their own way to Jesus.
Jaime, I know that this time can't be easy for you and your family, and even though I am sad, I also rejoice with you, because we know that it is only a short time before we get to see your dad again. In the meantime, he gets to dance and laugh and drum and worship God uninhibitedly, which I can't help but be a little bit jealous of! I love you bunches!
I didn't have many opportunities for one on one chats with your Dad. I'm sad for that. I'll always remember him taking us to softball games or the times we'd pile us into the van for a DR run. I cherish those and will keep them close to heart as we honor his life. May he always watch over, close at heart. God speed.
Lots of love,
Karrie
I've known the Zschokke children for nearly two decades. Jaime and I graduated together and Renee was always like another sister. Growing up around one another you learn what family dynamics are like and there really is no other family like, the Zschokke's. Their free spirits, huge hearts, one of a kind laughter and kindness resonates in all of them. I am without question that Mike attributed greatly to who they are and who they've become as adults and that says a lot! My wish is that your family carry on the traditions and lessons your father has taught you and that you never forget him in the best of ways. My sympathies to you all. May you rest in peace Mr. Zschokke.
