Dad, I will miss you more than you can ever imagine. I'm happy that your suffering is over. You always told me to measure twice and cut once but sometimes I still have a tendency to cut twice and then measure. Do me a favor and keep an eye on me from time to time. I'll never get used to these one way conversations.
Dad life will not be the same without you but I know you are not in pain anymore. Dad we are taking good care of mom so don't worry. I have a lifetime of memories that I will never forget. I want to thank you for being the best dad anyone could ever ask for.
Dad I am not sure what it will be like without you in my life. All I have now is memories which will be with me as long as I live.
An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
Love you always
Your loving daughter Denise
I will miss the car rides. I will miss the stories, even the ones you told a hundred times. I will miss your tight and warm hugs. I will miss looking for your glasses, that you always lost. I will miss seeing how excited you got when you brought home a surprise for grandma, whether it was flowers, treats or a new doll. I will miss the secrets you told me downstairs or out in the garage when you were fixing something. I will miss you stopping by at mom's house with grandma on your Saturday or Sunday ride. I will miss going to church with you and talking religion. I will miss Christmas and watching you pass out gifts. I will miss your cooking. Thank you for coming to every play, concert, softball game, basketball game, graduation and every other important event in my life. I will miss you more than words will ever be able to describe, but you made me into the person I am today. I love you Grandpa and I will miss you so very very much.
