Obituary for Donna Elaine Warren

Donna Elaine Warren
Donna Elaine Kesinger Warren, 68, passed away early Sunday morning December 31, 2017 at Meadow Ridge Senior Living in Golden Valley, MN after a difficult struggle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Donna was born August 11, 1949 in Champaign Illinois to Don and Marcella (Shores) Kesinger.

In 1970, Donna graduated from Drake University with a degree in journalism with a concentration on magazines and books. A star student, she was in Alpha Phi sorority and Theta Sigma Phi professional journalism sorority. She was a part of the Angel Flight Campus Service Organization as well as a Times-Delphic assistant news editor and features editor.

Donna moved to Minnesota in June 1970 where she worked in the public relations department of Land O’ Lakes and later, as assistant public relations director of The Minneapolis Society for the Blind. Her favorite years, and up until the end, were spent boating on the St. Croix River—“the most beautiful place in the world,” she’d say.

Donna is survived by her partner, Donald Neitzel; children, Paul, Katie and Ashley; grandchildren, Jonah, Rain, Haley, Nubia, Taj, Fletcher, Finn, Abby and Poppy; brothers, David, John and Harvey; sisters, Margaret, Susan and Janet; many nieces and nephews and many many friends.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, at 5 PM at All Saints Lutheran, 15915 Excelsior Boulevard Minnetonka, MN, with visitation one hour before at church. Special thanks to the nursing staff at Meadow Ridge Senior Living. Donna had a huge capacity for love and her memory will live forever in our hearts.
