I met Tove and Gunther in the late 1960s when my then husband Max Harshbarger worked for Gunther at 3M. I quickly grew to love both Tove and Gunther for their kindness and their joy. Max and I were invited to many parties at the DIerrsen home, all of which included great hospitality and wonderful food. I remember one party where a guest spoke very loudly to Tove, to which she replied, " I may speak with an accent but my hearing is just fine."
When I was a new mother,Tove provided support and encouragement. Clearly, she knew what she was doing as a mother since her four daughters were delightful.
When Max and I divorced in 1980, I lost contact with Tove and Gunther but I have never forgotten them.
